 All Sole treadmills are outfitted with powder-coated, all-steel welded frames and heavy-duty, stable inclines. The F80 also includes an industrial-quality 3.0-horsepower continuous-duty motor and all-steel zinc-coated balanced flywheel, creating a secure, quiet, vibration-free running/walking surface. The flywheel is much heavier than most other brands, giving runners the fluid motion they're accustomed to at the gym. To accommodate runners with balky joints, Sole added its low-impact, whisper-quiet Cushion Flex deck. The Cushion Flex system greatly reduces the impact to your feet, ankles, knees, hips, and spine, making it comfortable for frequent runners or for users with running- and walking-related injuries. In a recent study, researchers concluded that the Cushion Flex deck reduced impact up to 40 percent as compared to running on asphalt.

I decided to spend the little extra on the SOLE F80. We tried out numerous ones at the stores and when it came to bang for the buck this was the winner. With being more solid, better set up, more powerful engine, wider belt, better warranty, it was worth the additional cash for us.

I REALLY like my treadmill. I used one at the gym all the time so I knew what I wanted to have. It does pretty much everything... Has great sound (although the cord that came with it distorted it, we just spent a few bucks and bought a better audio cord. It's got great sound now). It is very solid yet has some give when you run on it. We have run and walked and both been satisfied. The main differences between this treadmill and the more expensive ones at the gym is the rate at which you can change the speed. The Sole is a bit slower. And the noise. This treadmill is just a little bit louder. But at the cost difference those are VERY minimal.

I also like that you can preset a workout and then do it again the next day. There are drink holders on the top console. Some people said they were too low. There are ones below but there are also two additional that water bottles fit into on the top.

It is a very big and sturdy machine but it can also fold up with EXTREME ease. I do miss the camaraderie of working out in a gym, but overall I am EXTREMELY happy with my purchase and thank you for all of your great reviews.

My Landice 8700 died after 7500 miles and 10 years. From my research, the Sole F-80 slightly edged out the Smooth 7.35 based on ergonomics. The Smooth console is so high my 5'6" wife couldn't see the TV over it. Got free curb drop delivery, and had the guy set it directly on my appliance dolly, figuring to move it in myself. Don't try this at home; the box is ENORMOUS and heavy. I got it in. Setup was easy although a few holes in the plastic shrouds didn't line up well.

I now have 50 miles on it and tried all the features. Folder or not, this thing is rock solid and I have used lots of gym treadmills. It is also easy on the feet, and very quiet. The handles are a bit short forcing a running position too close to the motor cover. I made a couple 1' extensions, problem solved. Basically all the important stuff is excellent, and it is a pleasure to run on. The console takes a little practice to use optimally...maybe they could have thought it out a bit better, but it works well and has big numerals that are easy to see.

Stuff that isn't so good: I hope the entire Advanced Fan Design Department is among the 9% unemployed. The fans make a very restful noise, which is the only way to tell they are on. NOTE to AFDD: discover squirrel cage blowers!

The running estimate of calorie burn is wildly high. Of course the burn is only an approximation, but compared to many other mills I've used it reads at least 33% high by comparison for the same run.

So far I am well satisfied, and impressed with the machine.
